Date change for Newtown contest

There has been a change of date for the forthcoming Newtown (Mid Wales) March & Open Air Contest.

4BR has been informed that due to unforeseen circumstances Newtown Silver Band has announced a change of date of their forthcoming Newtown (Mid Wales) March & Open Air Contest.

The event has now been changed from Sunday 8th June to Sunday 15th June.

Format

The format of the contest will remain — a deportment quick march along the local High Street, followed in the Town Park by each band playing three items — an own choice hymn tune and own choice contest march, followed by one own choice entertainment piece totalling around 15 minutes in duration.

The closed music adjudication will be open to Second, Third, Fourth, Unregistered, Youth and Training bands.

The event has now been changed from Sunday 8th June to Sunday 15th Junecontest organisers
