New signings for Boarshurst

A batch of new signings boost the Boarshurst ranks ahead of Blackpool.

Boarshurst

Boarshurst Silver Band has announced the arrival of five new signings in time for the North West Area contest in Blackpool in March.

Player boost

David N Ashworth and Nicola Murray have both rejoined the band on front row cornet after a number of years away, whilst Emma Ashley comes in on second baritone. Emma joins Chris Lloyd, who takes on the solo baritone role with Staci Lloyd joining the percussion section.

Pleased

MD, David W Ashworth told 4BR: "I’m so pleased to welcome each of these experienced players.

Emma, Chris and Staci are very close friends of the Boarshurst Band and they will all fit in very easily, and to welcome my son, David and Nicola back, makes me very proud indeed."

Return

He added: "David last lead the band as principal cornet at the Area at Blackpool in 2011, and Nic left after playing principal cornet with us at the 2011 National Finals before starting her studies at Manchester University."
