4BR has been informed by Johnstone Silver that Musical Director, trombonist, Paul Kiernan is to leave his post after next month's Scottish Championships in Perth to focus on his playing career.

Three year tenure

Paul has been travelling to Johnstone over the last three years, leading the band to concert and contest successes which included competing at the First Section National Finals and gaining promotion to the Championship Section.

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "We are looking forward to hard work and extra rehearsals ahead of Paul’s last planned outing on 'St Magnus' at the Scottish Championship next month.

We will be sad to see him go, but wish Paul all the best with his future plans."
