Holme sweet Holme a fourth time

The fourth annual Holme Valley Slow Melody & Ensemble Competition will take place in June.

Wales

The fourth Annual Holme Valley Slow Melody & Ensemble Competition will take place on Saturday 21st June at Hade Edge’s impressive bandroom.

Delighted

Organising the event once again is Graham Bates, who told 4BR: "We were delighted to see a much larger entry last year as the competition starts to become a regular date in the banding calendar.

We were also treated to some exceptional playing, especially in the Open Ensemble and 11 & Under classes, so we look forward to see old and new friends once again — especially as they can enjoy some wonderful catering too!"

Judge

The highly respected tenor horn star and conductor Sandy Smith has been engaged to adjudicate the seven sections – five solo sections (11 & under, 14 & under, 16 & under, open and veterans) and two ensemble sections (under 18 and open).
