The East Riding of Yorkshire Band has been celebrating their recent success at the North of England Championships in Darlington, where they claimed the Third Section Regional title under MD Ian Scott.

Composer

Their performance of ‘Partita for Band – Postcards from Home’ in the presence of the composer himself was an added bonus, whilst the band also claimed the prize for ‘Best Percussion’ and Ian, the winning conductor award.

This commitment has been well rewarded in Darlington, so the challenge now is to start raising the funds to get us to CheltenhamEast Riding of Yorkshire Band

Tremendous commitment

A spokesperson told 4BR: "The members all make a tremendous commitment to the band, giving all their time and effort freely and even paying for their own seat on the coach!
