Eagley not brassed off

The Eagley Band has certainly welcomed their chance to tread the boards for the latest theatre run of the iconic brass band film...

The Eagley Band is certainly not ‘brassed off’ following the news that they have been invited to be involved in the latest run of the Touring Consortium Theatre Company's production of the iconic film, which has now reached the Octagon Theatre, Bolton.

Trio

The production team have chosen three local bands to undertake the 31 day run, including a number of matinee performances. The current production started at the Octagon this week and continues until June 14th.

Giddy

Eagley's Band Manager, Deb Lyons told 4BR that she was ‘proper giddy!’ with the excitement whilst Mike Lyons, the band's chairman and Eb Bass player added: "The band was facing the prospect of a bleak summer season as so many musical events in the town have been axed due to the government's cut backs.

Now we are now considerably more secure for another year — not to mention the tremendous prestige of being involved in such a fabulous production."

Top flight partners

Eagley will work alongside the top section duo of Blackburn & Darwen and Wingates, with some performances made up of a band featuring players from all three bands.
