The combined forces of Cory and Tredegar will be joining together next weekend in a unique concert to help support one of the foremost charities in Wales.

Cardiff

The National and British Open champions will be raising funds for Velindre Cancer Care in a family afternoon concert on Sunday 22nd June at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, starting at 2.00pm.

Davies support

International rugby star and BBC pundit Jonathan Davies (known to he Welsh rugby public as 'Jiffy') is President of Velindre Cancer Care Fundraising, and told 4BR that he was delighted that the number 1 & ranked bands in the world were supporting a charity that also holds a special place in his life.

"People don’t appreciate the work Velindre does until the unfortunate time comes around and you need it — then you realise how good a place it is and how hard people work there.

I know that. They are amazing, and so are these bands — so I would like to thank Cory and Tredegar for their magnificent support."

Hearts

"It’s been an idea that we have thought about for some time," John Southcombe of Cory told 4BR.

"Velindre Cancer Care is close to the hearts of both bands, and we couldn’t think of a better way in which to show our support for the amazing work they undertake."

Tredegar Band Chairman Alywn Powell agreed: "This is something both bands excel at — so it shouldn’t be missed. The support the event has already gained has been remarkable, so it’s no surprise that there are not many tickets left!"

Wales versus New Zealand

With raffle prizes that include tickets to see Wales versus New Zealand, vouchers for the 5 star Celtic Manor, great music from both bands under Philip Harper and Ian Porthouse and roof raising joint items all brought together with the aid of compere Beverley Humphreys, there is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy – plus the opportunity to have your picture taken with the two most iconic trophies in world banding.

They are amazing, and so are these bands — so I would like to thank Cory and Tredegar for their magnificent supportJonathan Davies
