Brighouse and Foden's announce Bridgewater sets

Brighouse & Rastrick and Foden's announce the programmes they will perform at the Great Northern Brass Arts Festival.

Bridgewater Hall

Brighouse & Rastrick and Foden’s have announced the programmes they will perform at the forthcoming Gala Concert of the Great Northern Brass Arts Festival which takes place at Bridgewater Hall, Manchester on Saturday 13th September.

Norwegian talents

Under the direction of Prof David King, the Yorkshire favourites will present an innovative set, which includes the Norwegian talents of vocalist Lydia Hoen Tjore and tuba star Staale Sleire Johansen, as well as a UK premiere of a new solo written by Philip Sparke for Sheona White.

Fans of Gilbert Vinter will also get a chance to hear a much neglected classic in ‘Challenging Brass’, with their set concluding with Todd Smith’s ‘Vita Destructa’.

Contrasting works

Foden’s team up with Richard Evans for an entertaining programme that will open with the signature march, ‘The Cossack’, with featured soloist Mark Wilkinson performing ‘Spring Song’.

Contrasting works from Howard Snell and Dr Denis Wright with ‘Postcard from Mexico’ and ‘Elaine from ‘Tintagel’ lead into the closing ‘The Flight of the Wild Geese’ by Robin Dewhurst.
