National champion Cory will be playing for perhaps the most distinguished, and most definitely the most security conscious brass band audience ever this evening.

The band has been invited by HRH The Prince of Wales to perform at the official reception for the NATO Summit in Newport — an event which will see world leaders such US President Barack Obama enjoy a few hours relaxation before they get to grips with global security issues around the conference tables.

Band Manager Austin Davies told 4BR that the band is thrilled to be representing Wales at such an important world occasion. "It is an amazing honour for the band — especially as all the world’s media will focussed on Wales this evening looking to report on what is happening.

Unfortunately we can’t say too much about what we are doing at present due to the security surrounding the event, but I know everyone is simply thrilled to be involved."
