Report & Results: 2014 Macclesfield Youth Slow Melody

A great turn out and some stunning playing on show at the Macclesfield Youth Band Slow Melody Contest.

Adjudicator Fiona Rolfe had some difficult decisions to make at the recent Macclesfield Youth Band's Slow Melody Contest.

The standard was very high at the sixth running of the event, with only one point between contestants in many classes – including a tie between rising stars Sam Housley and Alex Walton in the Under 12 Percussion Class, and a perfect score for Lewis Frost in the 12 to 19 Solo Class!

All brilliant

Fiona told 4BR: "They were all brilliant and gave me such a hard but enjoyable job! It was so encouraging to hear so many promising young players."
