Fine line up for Torquay

The 68th annual South West Brass Band Association contest in Torquay has attracted a fine line up of competing bands.

Torquay

The 68th South West Brass Band Association Championships will be held on Saturday 1st November at The Riviera International Conference Centre in Torquay.

Kick off

The musical action kicks off at 10.00am, continuing through until mid evening, with plenty of fine music making to enjoy for the audience and adjudicators, David Lancaster and Barry Thompson.

The Association told 4BR that they are pleased to report an excellent entry of 31 bands in six sections, with competitors from Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Hampshire and Dorset.

Youth and Training

It was also pleasing to note the attendance of two Youth Bands and five Training Bands in their respective sections. The presentation of awards will be made by the Association’s recently elected President, Sue Richards.
