Leyland stars set to tutor young musical talent

Star players from the Leyland Band will help the new generation of north west musical talent.

NWYBB

Tutors from the Leyland Band, led by North West Youth Brass Band Musical Director John Doyle, will be sharing their expertise next month at a free workshop and masterclass event.

Partnership

As part of Leyland's partnership with Blackpool Music Education Hub, Yamaha and the National Association of Brass Band Conductors, young brass players and percussionists aged 11 to 21 will be welcomed at Lostock Hall Academy in Preston on Sunday 23rd November between 10.00am and 1.00pm to enjoy expert tuition.

Wonderful opportunity

"Ahead of the formal launch of the North West Youth Brass Band in January, our tutors will be working with young musicians,” said NWYBB manager Iain McKnight.

"As well as being a wonderful opportunity to learn, it will also give these players a chance to put themselves forward to join the band, should they wish to.

John and the team have some fantastic music in the pipeline so this will be one event they won't want to miss!"
