Saga gets extra shine

Jacob Vilhelm Larsen's 'The Saga of Tyrfing' gets a shine ahead of championship challenge.

Composer Jacob Vilhelm Larsen has announced that following the completion of a thorough errata exercise, his test piece, ‘The Saga of Tyrfing’, will now be automatically e-mailed to those who bought the earlier download version.

Set work

The highly evocative work has been selected as the First Section set test for the forthcoming Danish National Brass Band Championships as well as the Championship Section of the 2015 National Youth Brass Band Championships.

The amendments will mean that all competing bands in both events will have the opportunity to perform off the latest downloadable version or updated paper copies if they choose.

Thorough review

Jacob told 4BR: "I’m delighted the piece has been selected as a set test in two prestigious contests, and so I have ensured that I have completed a thorough review of the piece to correct any minor errors that may have existed.

Bands can now download new copies, or purchase paper editions, knowing that we have given them music produced of the very highest quality."

Partnership

Due to the increasing demand for his compositions, Jacob’s own company BrassFactory.dk has entered into partnership with one of Denmark’s leading professional printing companies to ensure future editions of his works are produced to the same outstanding levels.

Henrik Lützen of Brass Fatcory added: “Our view, pay, print, play concept is very innovative and gives giving the customers instant access to our products, but we wish to ensure that we continue to develop all aspects of customer service — especially as Jacob’s music is proving so popular.”

New works

BrassFactory.dk will also be launching printed versions of their most popular pieces during the next weeks including: ‘Ad Astra’, ‘A Time For Us’, ‘4 French Renaissance Dances’, ‘Can`t Nobody Do Me Like Jesus’, ‘Oakland Swoosh’, ‘Some Skunk Funk’, ‘March — Call of The Brave’, ‘Back In The Groove’, ‘Miserere mai Deus’ and ‘Let The Voice of Praise Resound’.

The amendments will mean that all competing bands in both events will have the opportunity to perform off the latest downloadable version or updated paper copies if they choose4BR
