Flixton gain player boost as they look ahead to 2015

The Flixton Band has gained a Xmas player boost as they look ahead to a prosperous musical New Year.

The Flixton Band is ending 2014 on a positive note with the return of former players Dave and Lesley Hardman on cornet and percussion, and cornet player John Harrison after a 19 year absence.

John will be joined by his sons Alistair and Nicholas on cornet and kit respectively, both of whom have progressed from the Flixton Community Band which continues to go from strength to strength since its formation in 2013.

The band also welcomes two new faces, Rob Craven on trombone and Hazel Boxall on Eb bass who have recently moved into the area.

Band Manager Paul Thomason, commented that the recent signings has given Flixton a great boost as they look forward to the Area Championships next year in Blackpool4BR

Meanwhile, Jason Smith, who has recently conducted Lindley and Hebden Bridge has agreed to lead the band over the festive period until a new Musical Director is appointed in the New Year.
