Pride

It has just been announced that the independent British film, ‘Pride’ has been nominated in the ‘Best Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy’ category for the 2015 Golden Globe Awards in the USA.

Brass band score

The film recalls the real troubles and comic misunderstandings of the friendship and support that emerges between a small Welsh community and the founders of the London based Gay and Lesbian Support group at the height of the 1984 Miners Strike, and features a significant brass band soundtrack written by composer Chris Nightingale and played by Tredegar Band conducted by Ian Porthouse.

Beverly Hills ceremony

The awards are chosen by the 85 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association based in Los Angeles, and the 72nd winners will be announced in a ceremony hosted by actresses Tina Fey and Amy Poehler in Beverly Hills on 11th January.

‘Pride’ is up against ‘Birdman’, ‘Into the Woods’, ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ and ‘St Vincent’.
