Swiss and Norwegian flavour to French Open

There is to be a distinct Swiss and Norwegian flavour to the music making at the French Open over the next couple of years...

Details have been announced of the set works to be used at the 21st French Open Brass Band Championships, which will be held in the beautiful Loire valley town of Amboise (above) on the weekend of the 5th-7th June 2015.

Norwegian and Swiss

The gala concert for the event will be led by the 2014 Siddis Entertainment champion Stavanger, whilst the organisers also revealed that Swiss composer Ludovic Neurohr, recent winner of the Salford University International Composers Competition will write the 2016 Championship Section set work.

Ludovic’s most recent work, ‘*****’ for Brass Band and Ondes Martenot was recently premiered at the Swiss national Championship in Montreux to both critical and popular acclaim.
