Seattle thanks to Daws

David Daws has just returned home from a Thanksgiving musical visit to Seattle.

The Seattle Temple Band of Washington state, USA, recently played host to David Daws as guest soloist for their annual Thanksgiving Festival (above).

Masterclass

The 35-piece corps band enjoyed a masterclass given by David and extended rehearsals on Saturday in preparation for the Sunday night concert. The Songsters, Singing Company and a divisional youth band were also featured at the well attended event.

The Army hall was packed and concert goers were treated to five euphonium solos, ‘Czardas’, ‘Harlequin’, ‘The Better World’, ‘Song of Triumph’ and ‘Lord, with my all I Part’.

David not only charmed the audience with his skill on the instrument as well as his sense of humour, but also showed off his conducting skills, leading the band in Edward Gregson’s ‘Laudate Dominum’4BR
