The Scottish Brass Band Association will be hosting a free Scottish Championship test piece workshop for Second and Third Section bands on Saturday 31st January.

Second & Third Section

The event is being run in association with the reigning Scottish Champion, Co-operative Funeralcare Band under the direction of Allan Ramsay (above), who will work on ‘Variations on Maccabeus’ by Kevin Norbury and ‘Evolution: Five States of Change’ by Philip Sparke.

Time and place

The workshop event takes place at the Salvation Army Citadel Hall, 192 Fernbank Street, Glasgow G22 6BD starting at 10.00am, and is open all conductors, players and brass band enthusiasts who wish to gain an invaluable insight into the two works.

All this and there is a snack lunch provided, with parking available in the Police Car Park next to the hall (so make sure you don’t have bald tyres or that your tax disc is out of date!)
