Foden's honour patrons and players

The Foden's Band has been honouring the work, support and dedication of both their patrons and players...

Fodens

Foden's Band recently held their annual 'Patrons Concert' at Sandbach School, where over 500 of their most active supporters enjoyed a fine night of music making under the baton of Michael Fowles.

New CD release

The concert coincided with the release of their latest ‘Patrons’ Choice’ CD — the eighth in the popular series, with a musical highlight of the evening provided by the appearance of euphonium legends Trevor Groom and Lyndon Baglin who joined Glyn Williams and Mark Bousie to perform ‘Ave Verum’ — which has just been released on Glyn’s latest CD, ‘Platinum Celebration’.

Player awards

The concert also saw the announcement made of the 2014 Band Awards, with Glyn picking up the ‘Player of the Year’ accolade and Paul McDonald voted ‘Bandsperson of the Year’.

Patron dedication

Each year Foden’s also dedicate the release of their latest ‘Patrons’ Choice’ CD to a specific individual who has provided them with many years of support, and this year it was Tom Foster, a life-long supporter and a former employee of the famous truck company.

Tom was also the band’s bus driver for many years and recently made a welcome return by becoming their all important van driver for percussion and equipment.

Become a supporter and help make our future secure.
