Bray adds marathon miles to help Brass Factor smiles

Brass Factor founder Alex Bray has been pounding the miles out to help raise funds for a special charitable cause.

Alex Bray, the founder of the innovative Brass Factor entertainment contest recently took time out from the planning of the fifth anniversary competition to run the Disney Dopey challenge to help raise funds for Huddersfield charity, ‘Forget Me Not’ Children’s Hospice.

Disney Dopey

The annual challenge, held at Disneyland, Florida, consists of a 5k, 10k, half marathon and a full marathon, with participants across the globe taking part, with the fit as butcher’s dog entrepreneur raising £1,200 for the charity.

Alex is now preparing for the Manchester relay marathon in April, having only taking up running by his godfather who challenged him to run that event with him for his 50th birthday.

Fund raising

He also hopes his individual fundraising success paves the way for another fruitful year for his musical brainchild too, with the fifth annual event also raising funds for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and Martin House.

It was a great experience completing the Disney Dopey Challenge for such a worthwhile and fantastic causeAlex Bray

Great experience

Alex told 4BR: “It was a great experience completing the Disney Dopey Challenge for such a worthwhile and fantastic cause. I would like to thank everybody who has sponsored and supported me through it, and I’m looking forward to my next marathon challenge in April.”

He added: “I’m also going to ensure that Brass Factor 2015 is the biggest and best competition yet. 2014 was fantastic but now we’re aiming even higher, with many exciting events planned in the run up to the contest — so watch this space!”
