No lifeboat required for Besses Boys in Padstow

Besses Boys Band has enjoyed a great few days on tour in Cornwall.

Besses Boys BAND

Besses Boys Band has just returned from a highly successful tour of Cornwall — performing three concerts during a highly enjoyable five day stay.

The first event was a joint concert with St Austell Band in the picturesque surroundings of the St Austell Parish Church.

Rousing finale

Both bands performed individually before joining together for rousing finale featuring a double trio of trombones in 'I Will Follow Him', 'Prelude on 49th Parallel' and the John Miles classic of 'Music'.

The band also performed at the West Pier of St Ives as well as giving a concert at Padstow Harbour (above).

At both of events the band performed a wide variety of repertoire including solo features from Tom Ridgley, Claire Holt, Laura Emsley, Phil Goodwin and Joel Rongong — resulting in encores demanded by the crowds.

The audiences at all events were so receptive and the band has received fantastic feedback — so plans are already under way for our next visit!MD James Holt

Fantastic tour

MD James Holt told 4BR: "This has been a fantastic tour. As a band we love to get out and perform in as many places as possible.

The St Austell Town Band has our whole-hearted thanks for their help in organising the joint concert and providing much needed local knowledge.

The audiences at all events were so receptive and the band has received fantastic feedback — so plans are already under way for our next visit!"
