The Cornwall Youth Brass Band is making its annual appeal for young musicians wishing to join them for the start of their new season in September.

Opportunities

With eight monthly rehearsals and two residential courses from September to April each year, there is plenty of opportunity to make new friends and enjoy the benefit of working and learning with both experienced local tutors and renowned Guest Conductors.

Michael Fowles (above), MD of the Foden's Band will lead the 2015 Christmas course, and will be joined by their superb principal trombone John Barber.

At Easter 2016 it will be the turn of the multi-talented Tom Davoren, the exciting composer and Associate Conductor of the Fairey Band.

Outstanding tutors

Secretary, Philip Hunt told 4BR: "Mike and Tom will be coaching and conducting the band during the four day Residential Courses, along with our team of outstanding tutors.

We believe this offers young players the chance to work closely with the best known and talented musicians from the brass band world which can only improve their all round musicianship and benefit their parent bands."
