Foden's seek presto entrants

If you want to take part in the Foden's Solo & Ensemble contest then you had better be presto about it

The annual Foden's Solo Contest will take place on the 31st October at Sandbach Boys School, with a huge list of entrants expected to take part in the various solo and ensemble sections throughout the day.

Great prizes

The adjudicators this year will be Simone Rebello, Helen Williams, Owen Farr and Florent Didier (MD of Paris Brass Band) who will have the difficult tasks of awarding fantastic prizes that include overseas tours, bursaries and new music commissions.

Foden's Band Manager Mark Wilkinson told 4BR: "We looking forward to once again hosting what is undoubtedly the biggest event of its kind in the UK.

We are delighted that Besson will once again act as our main sponsor and we would like to thank our experienced team of adjudicators for accepting our invitation to be part of what promises to be a wonderful day."

May 1 • Croy Silver Band currently has contest vacancies on Cornet, E-flat Bass and Percussion, but also welcomes enquiries for any section of the band. We rehearse in Croy on Monday and Thursday evenings from 7:30pm.
