Two way thanks from Baker and Carlton

The end of a successful two year tenure sees fond farewells from both parties at Carlton Main Frickley.

Carlton Main

Yorkshire Regional Champion Carlton Main Frickley has bid a fond farewell and expressed their best wishes to Leigh Baker after he decided to relinquish his post as Musical Director.

It ends a highly successful two year tenure working alongside professional conductor Philip McCann, as Leigh talks on the role as Resident Conductor at Brighouse & Rastrick, where he spent almost 20 years as a player.

Thanks

Leigh told 4BR: "I would Iike to thank everyone at Carlton Main for two fantastic spells at the helm. I've enjoyed amazing experiences both social and musical (as with Olympic gold medal boxer Nicola Adams above) with everyone and it has been an honour and a pleasure to be part of 'Team Frickley'.

He added: "To work with such a great band with so many talented musicians alongside Philip will stay with me forever. Great concert performances and a real run of successful contest results have filled me with immense pride."

Congratulate

In response, Band Manager, Robert Browne added: "We want to thank Leigh for his superb contribution to the band. We also congratulate him on his new appointment, and we know that Brighouse is a band very close to his heart.

However, this is now a very exciting time for us as we look to move in a new direction in 2016 with a new Musical Director at the helm."
