Garforth Brass lead Learn to Play day

Garforth Brass will be playing their part in the national 'Learn to Play' day by offering free tuition to those wanting to give brass bands a go...

Garforth

Garforth Brass will be offering free brass tuition lessons to people on the national 'Learn to Play' Day on Saturday 12th March.

Free taster

The initiative comes in association with Odyssey Brass & Woodwind, and coincides with Garforth's 10th anniversary celebrations. It also forms part of a national programme promoted by the Music For All charity, which gives the general public the chance to have a free 'taster' lesson on a musical instrument.

Training band

The event, which is being held from 9.30am — 4.00pm at Garforth Miners Welfare Hall in Main Street, Garforth, near Leeds, will hopefully lead to a number of new players joining the ranks of the brand new Garforth Brass Training Band which is being launched the following week.

Fun and relaxed

A spokesperson told 4BR: "We offer an open invitation to anyone, young or old, first time player or returning player, to come along.

It will be fun and relaxed — so why not have a blow on one of the many instruments loaned to us for the day by Odyssey Brass and Woodwind."

Free 15 minute lessons will be available with the chance to discuss all things brass!
