Reigning North of England Regional champion, Reg Vardy, will be holding an open rehearsal on 'Cambridge Variations' ahead of their title defence in Durham on the weekend.

Time and place

Led by Russell Gray, the free event takes place at Tanfield School,Tanfield Lea Road, Tanfield Lea, Stanley (DH9 8AY) on Thursday 10th March with a prompt 7.30pm start.

Help

In a refreshing change to the usual format, the band will be sharing the rehearsal with the recently reformed Fourth Section contenders Spennymoor Town Band, who Reg Vardy has worked with in the last few weeks.

New role

It has been part of a new mentoring role offered to several bands in the run up to the contest, including Northumbrian Water Ellington Colliery, Dunston and Trimdon Concert Brass.

Spennymoor will also be giving a performance of 'The Journal of Phileas Fogg' at the rehearsal under the direction of Neil Davies.
