New broadcast night for Listen to the Band

Listen to the Band moves to a late Tuesday night slot.

The Radio 2 'Listen to the Band' programme presented by Frank Renton will be moving to a new slot on the BBC.

It will still be broadcast at 11.30pm, but from this week onwards it will be every Tuesday evening.

New slot

Frank starts his new slot with a preview of the Radio 2 Young Brass Award Final which will be broadcast live on Friday 15th April at 8.00pm.

Previous winner Ross Knight recalls the day he won the award and tells Frank about his current role as tuba player in the prestigious Karajan Academy in Berlin.

2016 final

The 2016 final features four rising talents, Grimethrope Colliery Band with MD Robert Childs and featured guests The Opera Babes. It is presented by Ken Bruce and Frank Renton.
