Entries are now being sought from bands wishing to enter the lucrative Dr Martin Wainstone's Cup competition.

Success

After the success of last year's event, the annual event contest will return once more to the excellent surroundings and facilities offered by the Princess Alexander Auditorium at Yarm School, Stockton on Tees on Sunday 11th September (above).

Programme

The contest is open to Championship Section bands, who must perform a programme that includes an own-choice march, solo feature and major test-piece work. The 2015 event was won by the Reg Vardy Band who beat a high class field of rivals from around the country.

As always there is an excellent prize pot on offer, with the winners walking away with £4,000 and top four places rewarded by £2,000, £1,000 and £500 in addition to £250 fir the 'Best March' and 'Best Soloist'.

Entry details

An entry fee of £150 is payable, although each competing band will receive £300 towards expenses.
