4BR has been informed that one of Welsh banding's rising conducting talents has decided to leave his role as Musical Director of Blaenavon Band.

Over the last years Jamie Jones has led the Torfaen based band to victory at the Welsh National Eisteddfod as well as the Welsh Regional Championship in Swansea.

He told 4BR: "It's been a real pleasure to conduct Blaenavon for the last few years and I'm proud to have played a small part in their great history. I now look forward to focusing on my professional career in property and look forward to start playing euphonium a bit more regularly.

The band is certainly now than when I started and I wish them all the very best for the future."
