National conducting competition gains Yamaha support

Yamaha take up the beat with support for National Conductors Competition.

NABBC

The National Association of Brass Band Conductors has announced that their forthcoming 2016 Conductors Competition has gained support from Yamaha.

Finalists

The event coincides with the Association's Annual General Meeting on Sunday June 19th, will see 12 outstanding talents working on one of three pieces to try and gain one of the six available final berths on offer. There they will be tasked with conducting a work as part of an evening concert.

Best of luck

A spokesperson for Yamaha told 4BR: "We are proud to support the NABBC Conducting Competition, and wish all the competitors the very best of luck."

Significant

Speaking to 4BR at the Oslo Brass Festival in Norway, NABBC President Russell Gray added: "This is another significant show of support for an organisation which is moving forward and is itself offering the type of support to conductors that will secure for itself a very healthy future.

The event is already a significant addition to what we offer, and there is still time for applications to be received from ambitious conductors."
