The 2016 Phillip McCann Award, presented by his first band at Kinneil in Scotland, has been won by Eb tuba player Murray Stuart.

Teamwork and commitment

Murray was presented with the award in recognition of his strong teamwork and commitment to the band throughout the past year, one in which he enjoyed his first taste of playing with the senior Unison Kinneil Band. The 17 year old joined Kinneil Youth Band in 2014.

Phillip presented the trophy to the band several years ago to encourage youngsters in their development.
