Young trumpet star heads to Albert Hall

14 year old Scottish trumpet star Jenny Whitaker will soon be heard playing at one of the world's iconic concert venues.

Albert Hall
  What a place to play

14 year old Jenny Whitaker from Perth will play trumpet with the BBC Youth Ensemble at the iconic 'Last Night of the Proms' at the Royal Albert Hall in London on the 10th September.

The Youth Ensemble will perform the premiere of Tom Harrold's 'Raze', and Jenny is the only female trumpet player in the ranks as well as being the youngest member of the entire ensemble.

No stranger

The talented youngster is no stranger to the banding world (mum plays euphonium with Perthshire Brass) and was previously heard in action playing principal cornet with the National Children's Band of Scotland in 2014 and again in 2015, using that amazing experience to start to make her mark as a trumpet player.
