Dennis Todd has joined the Jayess Newbiggin Band in time for the National Finals at Cheltenham.

The Jayess Newbiggin Band has announced the signing of the vastly experienced Dennis Todd as their new principal cornet.

As reported on 4BR, Dennis joins from Easington Colliery, although he is no stranger to Jayess, having played with them many times since their formation in 2009.

Local legend

MD Andrew Griffiths told 4BR: "Dennis is a local legend and a musician of the highest quality and we are delighted to see him join us. He has already made such a positive impact in a number of concerts delighting the crowds in his own inimitable way.

For a player of this quality to join us shows how much we are committed to improving as a group and I'm looking forward to him leading the band at the National Finals in Cheltenham and beyond."
