Bodmin to invest in youth to secure future prosperity

Bodmin Town Band has set up a new training band to help secure its playing future.

Bodmin Town Band
Bodmin Town Band will be adding more and more young players to its ranks in the future.

Bodmin Town Band has announced the formation of a new Training Band.

The initiative has been set up to support the excellent work currently being carried out by MD John Maines which has seen the ongoing development of youth players — many of who have already made their way in the senior Bodmin band.

The Training Band will meet once a week, and will receive tuition in a fun environment from tutors Mo Moore and Emma Jackson.

Secure the future

A spokesperson told 4BR: "All age groups are encouraged to come along and the band is working alongside the local St Petroc's School Brass Group and their teacher Adam Scott.

This new partnership will provide a secure future for Bodmin Town Band and help with the aim of returning to the Championship Section in the near future."
