The NASUWT Riverside Band has announced that Chris Bentham has been appointed as their new resident conductor. He takes on the role after enjoying five successful years with Easington Colliery Band.

Looking forward

Band Manager Tony Thompson told 4BR: "We are really looking forward to building a successful partnership with Chris. He will be working with Dave Roberts preparing us for the Scottish Open contest in November and also fulfilling our busy concert schedule."

It was also announced that Steve Clarke, formerly of Hepworth, has been signed as second euphonium.
