Arrivals and departures at Wingates

There has been some reshuffling in the ranks at Wingates as they look towards the new contesting season.

New signings
Wingates are delighted to be boosted by their new signings

The Wingates Band has announced a number of arrivals and departures as they look towards the festive season and New Year.

Signings and departures

The well known musical pairing of Gillian and John Hinckey join the cornet section along with Rob Richardson on soprano, whilst Matt Whitfield is also welcomed to the percussion team.

Meanwhile, Eb tuba player Stephen Day leaves after three years helping build the musical foundation of the band.

Stephen has notched up over half a century of brass band commitment and in the last three years he has thoroughly enjoyed himself as Wingates once again appeared in major championship events such as Brass in Concert and the National Finals.

The respected solo baritone Elizabeth Tweedle has also relinquished her role due to increased work commitments but has been replaced by new signing Gareth Nelson.
