Blidworth Welfare Band has announced a key new signing as they prepare for life in the Championship Section in the Midlands in 2017.

The experienced John Randle will take on the soprano cornet role. He previously played with Enderby and more latterly Kibworth.

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "John replaces Trevor Milner, and the band would like to thank Trevor and his wife Jane, who was on second cornet, for their time with us after they decided to step down. We wish them all the best for the future."
