Cory to keep golden glow of Dahl

The title winning golden ticket of Cory and Roald Dahl can be enjoyed by even more fans in the coming months thanks to charitable support.

The support of the Colwinston Trust has enabled Cory to bring the remarkable life of Roald Dahl to musical life

The reflective golden ticket glow of Cory's Roald Dahl inspired Brass in Concert winning programme will be enjoyed by plenty more fans in the coming year, thanks to the support of a charitable trust.

Dahl support

The band won the premier entertainment title in Gateshead last November for the fourth time in five years with the inventively themed programme that celebrated 'The Remarkable Life of Roald Dahl' — the world renowned author who was born in Cardiff in 1916.

Written by Musical Director, Philip Harper with the support of the Colwinston Charitable Trust, it gave the band victory by a massive margin — with fans of both the band and the author keen to enjoy a repeat performance as soon as possible.

Concert appearances

Cory will now feature the works that made up the multiple award-winning set in their 2017 concert programmes — including up-coming events in Aberystwyth, Bradford upon Avon, Coleford and Harrogate during January and February.

In addition the world's number 1 ranked band has already been in the studio in January recording the pieces for their next CD release on the World of Brass label — although you can already enjoy their 2016 Brass in Concert winning performance by downloading from the World of Brass web site.

Astonishing

Philip Harper told 4BR: "I wanted to produce a Brass in Concert programme that had a strong, understandable narrative line running through it. The anniversary of Dahl's birth and the Welsh connection was a nice coincidence, but his life story was simply astonishing and compelling.

I'm very grateful that the trustees of the Colwinston Charitable Trust found merit in supporting this project to not only feature Dahl's well-loved tales but also retelling his own amazing life story.

Hopefully many more people will now become fans of both his work and our playing."
