Shirebrook Council continues brass band investment

2017 sees Shirebrook Town Council invest more money in their popular Brass in the Park and Open Entertainment contest.

Following the success of last year's Shirebrook Town Music Festival that incorporated the popular 'Brass in the Park' series of Sunday afternoons concerts as well as the Open Entertainment Contest, it has been announced to 4BR that Shirebrook Town Council will once again host the events in 2017.

Entertainment contest

The third annual Shirebrook Town Music Festival 'Brass Band Entertainment Contest' will be held on Sunday 9th July at Shirebrook Leisure Centre, Park Road, Shirebrook, Mansfield, Notts (NG20 8JQ)

As in previous years there will be no registration, the Event will be open to all bands, contesting or non-contesting, with the entry fee just £50.

The organisers have also increased the generous prize funds on offer, with a top prize of £750 and podium payouts of £400 and £200. There are also additional £200 prizes for the 'Most Entertaining', Second, Third and Fourth Section bands.
