Reg Vardy lead test-piece preview event

Reigning North of England champion to lead special Area test-piece showcase ahead of Durham challenges.

The defending North of England Regional Champion Reg Vardy will be holding a 'Regional Test-Piece Showcase' event ahead of their title defence in Durham on the weekend of 11th/12th March.

Free

The free evening will take place at St Thomas More School, Croftdale Road, Blaydon (NE21 4BQ) on Thursday 9th March and will also feature four other bands from each section presenting their set-works.

It kicks off promptly at 7.30pm with Spennymoor Town Band (Neil Davies) playing the Fourth Section work, 'St Andrew's Variations', followed by Ferryhill Town (Andrew Hall) on the Third Section challenge 'Darkwood'.

Rounded off

Bearpark & Esh (Peter Elcoat) will present the Second Section work, 'Rhapsody in Brass' with Dunston Silver (Aidan Hodgson) playing the First Section test, 'The Land of the Long White Cloud'.

The evening will be rounded off by Reg Vardy playing 'Pageantry' as they prepare to defend their title under the baton of MD, Russell Gray.
