Entries are now being sought for the popular Dr Martin Contest Wainstone's Cup that will be held at the Princess Alexander Auditorium, at Yarm School, Stockton on Tees, on Sunday the 10th of September.

£4,000 top prize

The event, with it substantive prize fund of over £8,000, is open to Championship Section bands who have to perform programmes that contain a march, featured soloist and a major test-piece selection if they are to claim the £4,000 first prize.

With podium prizes of £2,000 and £1,000, and with each band receiving £400 towards travelling expenses, the event, which takes place just a day after the British Open in Birmingham, has grown in popularity.
