The Kirkintilloch Band has announced that David Thornton will direct the band at the 2018 Scottish Championship.

The Sterling Artist and Resident Conductor at Brighouse & Rastrick Band has accepted their invitation to direct the former champion at the event in Perth next year, with Band spokesperson Ian Squires stating: "We are delighted by the news and look forward to starting work with David at the start of December."
