Sterling Musical Instruments has announced that Belgian tuba star Stefan Moeskops has become one of the company's performance artists.

The former principal EEb tuba player of Brassband Willebroek, is regarded as one of the finest and most experienced tuba soloists on the continent.

Thrilled

Stefan told 4BR: "I'm thrilled to be joining the Sterling team. The instrument itself is wonderful: The low register speaks incredibly easily and the tuning is so much more superior to what I've been accustomed to.

My friends, conductors and colleagues have all noticed a warmer, more grounded tone than I had previously produced.

My congratulations to Paul Riggett and his passionate staff at Sterling for being able to produce instruments of this quality to meet the needs of players at all levels."

Remarkable

Meanwhile, Sterling Musical Instruments MD Paul Riggett added: "Stefan is a remarkable tuba player and someone who brings vast experience that can only benefit our ongoing development and research into our instruments.

We are delighted he has joined us and look forward to working with him on a number of projects."
