There are new players and new moves at the Queensbury Band

Black Dyke has announced two new signings and two internal moves of personnel as they look towards the second half of the 2017 contest season.

New signings and moves

The talented 17-year-old Adam Neild, a past principal cornet of the National Children's Band and a member of the Junior School at the RNCM and Blue Coat School Oldham, joins on repiano cornet, whilst Sammy Latus, a brass peripatetic teacher at Oldham Music Services comes in on second horn

With Sammy coming in from Eccles Band, Alison Childs will move up to first horn, whilst following the departure of Benjamin Richeton, it has been announced that the experienced Martin Irwin will move from assistant principal cornet to take on the role with immediate effect.

Martin is no stranger to the soprano chair, having held the position with distinction at Brighouse & Rastrick, winning the Stanley Wainwright 'Best Soloist' award at the British Open in 1998.
