The youngsters of Middleton Youth were great musical ambassadors

The members of Middleton Youth Band have just returned from their third tour to Disneyland Paris where they performed at its impressive Videopolis theatre.

The band raised the funds for the trip over the past two years, and the end result of their hard work was a fantastic tour that ran smoothly from start to finish.

So proud

Musical Director, Louise Crane told 4BR: "It was so exciting performing in front of an international audience at the magical Disneyland Paris. We are so proud of our young musicians.

They were excellent ambassadors for our town and an absolute credit to the band, their parents and themselves for the whole weekend."

Lasting memories

Louise revealed that for some it was their first time away from the UK, with a number later telling her that it had been 'an amazing trip' and that they returned with 'memories that are going to stay with us forever.'

One young player told 4BR: "I enjoyed every second — especially when we were on stage performing. I can't wait for the band to do something like this again!"

Future stars

Middleton is certainly planning for the future, with the forthcoming launch of a new training band for beginners on 9th September at their band room at St Stephen's Church Hall, Middleton (11.00am- 12.30pm).

Louise added: "We want to attract new members, so it's open to anyone to come along, try out some of our instruments, play with or listen to our established youth band, ask questions and hopefully register for our new training band."
