The 2018 Flemish Open is offering a warm welcome, great organisation and a generous prize pot for bands wishing to showcase their entertainment.

  The Flemish Open offers a warm welcome to bands from all over Europe

The 2018 Flemish Open Brass Band Championship is seeking entries to its event next April.

The seventh series of the entertainment format event is hosted by Brass Band Hombeek and attracts bands from around Europe. The closing date for entries is 1st December.

Format

Three adjudicators will evaluate the 30 minute programmes of each participating bands in four sections: Sections C and A will play on Saturday with Sections D and B the following day. The judges are Jan de Haan (Netherlands), Blaise Héritier (Switzerland and Brett Baker (United Kingdom).

Each band will have to perform a set short work, the titles and publishers of which will be released shortly, whilst there is a generous prize list.

Harlow Brass Band

February 27 • We are a friendly, non-contesting band who have the following vacancies:. Trombones, 2nd Horn, Back Row Cornets, Percussion. . We rehearse every Thursday in Harlow, 8-10pm and play at local events throughout the year.


Newmarket Town Band

February 27 • Newmarket Town Band is inviting applications for the post of 'Musical Director'. We are a non-contesting band who play to a high standard with regular bookings throughout the year. Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays 7:30 - 9:30pm
