Scottish youth to benefit from star tuition

The talented young players of the Scottish Youth Brass Band will gain inspirational tuition in 2018 from some of the finest brass band stars such as Les Neish.

Les Neish
Les Neish will be one of a team of high profile stars offering inspirational tuition to the talented youngsters.

The National Youth Band of Scotland has confirmed the list of star tutors who will work with them in 2018.

Tutor team

The vastly experienced Fairey Band cornet player Brian Taylor will be joined by Foden's soprano player Richard Poole to look after the cornet team, whilst Lesley Poole will take charge of the horns.

Former Grimethorpe euphonium player Michael Dodd will look after the euphoniums and baritones, with Black Dyke's Brett Baker in charge of the trombones. Les Neish will lead the tubas with Foden's Mark Landon looking after all the percussion requirements.

Scottish banding is now reaping the rewards of the long term investment in youth, and that's why we are determined to ensure NYBBS will benefit from inspirational tuition from some of the finest brass and percussion players in the UKSBBA
