Plans continue to be put in place for the sixth Bolsover International Brass Band Summer School which will be held between the 22nd — 27th July based at the Heritage High School in Clowne, Derbyshire.

Video

International euphonium star and Besson artist Steven Mead will lead the course assisted by tutors Mark Wilkinson, David Hirst, Paul Bennett, Shaun Crowther, Steve Jones and Rebecca Lundberg — and he has just released a special video YouTube feature to give you a little taster of what will be in store, including an outdoor concert at the spectacular National Trust property Hardwick Hall on Wednesday 25th July.

Options

Once again the course is open to non-participating guests and non-residential participants, with delegates having the option of arranged hotel accommodation or making their own arrangements.

The BIBBSS has a large number of returning participants due to the many musical and social attractions.

Music chosen this year encompasses the varying standards of the delegates and will include a recent commission from the pen of Paul Lovatt-Cooper entitled 'The Forces Unleashed' written for Market Rasen Band and being premiered by Black Dyke at Lincoln Cathedral in April.
