Simon Kerwin has been appointed the new MD at GT Group Peterlee

The GT Group Peterlee Band has announced the appointment of Simon Kerwin as its new Professional Musical Director.

It follows a number of successful rehearsals taken by Simon with the band prior to the North of England Regional Championship. Simon is currently the Bandmaster of The Nottinghamshire Band of the Royal Engineers, which he has directed and developed since its inception in 2007.

Professional approach

A spokesperson told 4BR: "His professional approach and relaxed manner instantly clicked with the band and now plans are in place to work on some future events and projects whilst developing the band further technically and musically."
