Foden's principal cornet Mark Wilkinson is to hold a free masterclass for brass players in Solihull on Sunday 20th May.

The event is being jointly organised by Shirley Band (David Hirst) and Solihull Youth Brass Band (Richard Bull) part of Solihull Music Service, who later in the day will accompanying Mark in concert at their Spring Brass Explosion at Solihull School.

Encourage

Shirley Band Secretary Brian Johnson told 4BR: "We're delighted that Mark is joining us for our Spring concert and pleased to share with Solihull Youth Brass Band.

We'd certainly encourage brass players, music teachers and parents to come to the masterclass and concert for what should be one of the musical highlights of the year."

Wonderful musicality

Richard Bull, conductor of Solihull Youth Brass Band, added: "Being part of another musical collaboration with Shirley Band will be inspiring for our students and one which Solihull Music Service really values.

We are also very fortunate to be joined by Mark Wilkinson, and I know that every player at the masterclass and concert will benefit from his wonderful musicality."
